Drayton's Gazette discusses social and political issues happening around the globe through the eyes of the African American, minority and disaffected communities.

And They Say It’s His Policy They Hate by V. Lyn

The photos that are posted here are just an iota of the photos that you can see across the internet. There are far too many, actually one would be too many. Not only because it is the President of the United States and his family but because the contempt, disdain, hate and animosity shown is not REALLY just for the President but for all Black people and it demonstrates how engrained in the American psyche racism truly is. What is the message that we are consistently sending our vulnerable children of all colors.

The negative posters, imagery and emails went out long before Senator Obama’s became Prsident. They hated the man, the color of his skin, and all he and it represented to the changing face of American Power Structure long before they hated his policies. Policies were the excuse/justification just like racial inferiority was the excuse during slavery for the oppression of a race for their (self serving whites) economic and political gain.

The photos are only one additional and somewhat inconsequential method in the propaganda of oppression. There are far more dangerous methods in play, stop and frisk, voter suppression, cycle of poverty, educational gap, incarceration of young black men to feed a Penal system that is rewarded by their prisoners continued availablity to work, zoning laws that further marginalize communities, the disbarment of democracy with the new Emergency Management take over of cities and their government.

We as Americans need to be vigilant because the war against the POTUS is a war against us all and what we hold sancrosanct in this country.

    • It probably will end when more people like us find one another and laugh, share in our experiences and insights, cry and be made to gawk in awe at life and its absurdities 🙂 and if that fails when the assholes all die off 🙂
